The documentary film “Resistentes por la paz” has received a special mention from the jury in the last edition of the International Film Festival of Bahia (Brazil) and a first prize in the International Film Festival from Antofagasta (Chile)
This INDEPENDENT DOCS production directed by Unai Aranzadi was filmed in Colombia, the United States, Palestine and Israel.
“SOMALIA, A WORLD APART”

The 52 minutes documentary is being broadcasted this autumn by Al Jazeera International (english channel)
The film was recorded during the Mogadishu combats of the 2006 (in june and is september) under extremely risky conditions by the director Unai Aranzadi.

INDEPENDENT DOCS TV investigation in South Lebanon about the killing of six spanish soldiers in june 2007 will be broadcasted by Telemadrid in the upcoming days. It will be the first time for the spanish public opinion to get access to information coming directly from Hezbollah.
THE AMERICAN MOVIE: “DEATH OF A PRESIDENT” USES ARCHIVE FILMED BY UNAI ARANZADI IN IRAQ
The long feature film, which has won the first prize in the last edition of the Toronto International Film Festival uses war footage filmed by the INDEPENDENT DOCS documentary film maker, Unai Aranzadi.
Those secuences were recorded during embedded with the US Army in the volatile region known us the “Sunní Triangle” (Samarra, oct 2006)

FACULTAD DE PERIODISMO DE SEVILLA
Organizada por el Centro de Estudios Andaluces, esta conferencia tuvo como objetivo analizar el papel de los periodistas en los conflictos armados de la actualidad. La conferencia sirvió como foro de debate junto a la exposición “Corresponsal extranjeros en la guerra civil española 1936-1939”
Unai Aranzadi denunció la precariedad de los profesionales independientes y el clientelismo de los grandes medios.
“CRY SAHARA”
Producer Unai Aranzadi has finished the direction of a 50 minutes documentary film commissioned by the “Third World and Peace Foundation” in West Sahara.
The locations include the argelian refugee camps of Tindouf, the areas controlled by the Polisario Guerrilla and the territories occupied by the moroccan regime.

Esta película de media hora cuenta la olvidada realidad de los niños soldado en el norte de Uganda. El trabajo periodístico de Unai Aranzadi contribuyó a destapar esta dramática situación.

“CRY SAHARA” WINS AWARDS IN FILM FESTIVALS
AND DENOUNCES HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS
This is the first documentary about the occupation of Western Sahara at the hands of Moroccan regime recorded in the three territories in conflict. This film has been shown in dozens of countries and international film festivales in Latin America and Europe and has won more than a thousand euros in prize money which have been reinvested in projects of humanitarian aid for the saharawi people.
“IRAN´S SECRET WAR”
3 exclusive features broadcasted by ETB
Unai Aranzadi filmed intensively to the PJAK guerrilla in the mountains that divide Iraq from Iran. He documented some actions of this young militant organization and interviewed to his leaders.
Those exclusive TV features will be broadcasted the next 29, 30 and 31 of november by the Basque Public Television (ETB and Satelite)

AWARD WINNING DOCUMENTARIES IN SWEDISH AND NORWEGIAN
Independent Docs is cooperating with different social platforms in order to translate his productions in to scandinavian languages.
Some of those films are participating in the official section of international film festivals from Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, Western Sahara, Chile, Spain, Bolivia, Palestine and Ecuador.
Independent Docs director, Unai Aranzadi has been expelled from Zimbabwe´s capital Harare, after reporting about the cholera outbreak which is affecting the country.
The reasons given by the government were that the journalist “didn´t have all the papers that he should have” changing the excuses randomly and breaking their own immigration policies.
Unai Aranzadi made life connections for CNN and reported with responsability, respecting the law and the authorities.
UNAI ARANZADI EXPELLED FROM ZIMBABWE
El productor y guionista Elías Querejeta utilizará secuencias filmadas por el realizador Unai Aranzadi en su próximo largometraje documental, “un film homenaje al 60 aniversario de la carta internacional de los derechos humanos”
Las imágenes aportadas por INDEPENDENT DOCS servirán para ilustrar el drama de los niños soldado en diferentes conflictos del mundo, así como la invasión de Irak del 2003.

Después de seis meses de viajes y edición, la agencia y su director regresan a los diarios, las aulas y salas de cine.
Las capitales andaluzas serán escenarios de diversas conferencias de Unai Aranzadi, el diario vasco DEIA publicará varios reportajes de sus viajes a Somalia y los CInes Capitol de Bilbao proyectarán media docena de sus documentales.
La “XXXVI Jornada Internacional de Cine de Bahía”, uno de los encuentros cinematográficos más tradicionales del Brasil y conocido en todo el continente por ser el festival referente del cine social y de denuncia, otorgó a Unai Aranzadi el “TATU DE ORO” al mejor video documental por su trabajo “BOLIVIA EN PIE” producido por encargo de la comprometida organización vasca MUNDUBAT.
